Inspired by the colours and landscapes of Central Australia, where, when you get quiet and listen, you can feel the thrum of thousands of years of existence. Exuberant Stillness explores the contrast of between the vast, quiet stillness of a remote landscape, with the exuberant life the landscape gives home to.
 
Acrylic paint has been applied to the surface via a range of techniques including brush, palate knife, sponge and spattering; and manipulated with water and mediums to create the effects of time and weather on the ridge lines. The concentric circular patterns in the foreground are a symbol I return to often for their evocative, pulsing, calming energy.
